Davey Hughes

Davey Hughes

He’s hunted Caribou in the Arctic Circle, grizzlies in Alaska and buffalo in Tanzania. He is the bane of Customs Officials’ lives, runs the gruelling Coast to Coast each year, and is the man behind the highly-successful Swazi outdoor clothing label.

A passionate conservationist, Davey not only supports work within New Zealand’s shores, but also aids global projects.

An ardent fan of making his world-class apparel in New Zealand, he explains that for his staff it is all about the self esteem, self respect and the feeling that one is participating in something beautifully meaningful. These are the main drivers behind the Swazi brand staying onshore.

Davey lives life to the full, but what underpins all he does is his absolute love of New Zealand: “It’s about family, it’s about business and it’s about the people of this nation. He Tangata.”
